“Racial division is a spiritual problem,” says my friend Jerry Taylor, who is one of the leaders hosting the West Coast Racial Unity Leadership Summit.
“The objective for the West Coast Racial Unity Leadership Summit is to invite leaders in Churches of Christ on the West Coast to participate in a genuine national conversation about ways to foster greater racial unity throughout the body of Christ and her related schools” Taylor says. “We will provide current research on the topic of race that has been done by scholars in Churches of Christ. There will be civil discussions and panel presentations that will take us beneath the surface level in addressing the sin of racial division. Racial division is a spiritual problem and springs from hearts in need of redemption.”
Pepperdine University is inviting those attending the Pepperdine Bible Lectures, which begins on Tuesday, May 5, to arrive a day early to participate in the Racial Unity Summit.
